About Us

Cherrys Country Hardware was founded in 1947 by Jack Cherry, originally trading under the name of J Cherry & Son, as machinery and dairy specialists.



With the help of his son, Phillip, the business thrived, proving to be an invaluable resource to the generations of farmers that we continue to provide for.



In 1995 we began to diversify into the horticultural sector, supplying various gardening and landscaping equipment.



This diversification also saw the development of Cherryhire, our ever-expanding self-use hire department comprising of a wide range of equipment and machinery, from ATVs and compact tractors to agricultural equipment and grain dryers.

Since our expansion we have continued to grow steadily over the years, proven by the ever increasing number of customers that make us their first choice for excellent service. In 2004, the business was renamed Cherrys Country Hardware Ltd in order to encompass our broader aim to cater for all things country. We have since become one of the largest agricultural and horticultural suppliers in East Yorkshire, and are now main dealers for Stihl, Polaris UTV's & ATV's and Hayter mowers.



Most recently we were appointed authorised Iseki dealers for commercial mowing equipment and compact tractors. This has resulted in us supplying many groundcare businesses, and landscape and fencing contractors, with their requirements of machinery and equipment while continuing to maintain an agricultural focus.

Living and working within our local community gives us not only an appreciation of the rural way of life, but also the needs of our customers. Our products and services, offer consistent quality and value for money, spanning the Farming, Smallholder, Rural Business and Country Home sectors. Our well-stocked stores area comprises everything from country clothing and giftware to lubricants and spare parts.



The most recent development we have undertaken at Cherrys Country Hardware is the large extension to the workshop. Our workshop technicians work hard to repair our customers’ machinery as well as keeping the equipment that we offer for hire in top working order. The extension has also made way for the eagerly anticipated garden and groundcare showroom area that is currently under development.



It is these continual changes to our business that we are increasingly eager to promote, and now, the third generation of the family firm are just as passionate about the future of Cherrys Country Hardware and providing a service that is acres ahead of the rest.
